Good Books for Lent

Have you decided to intensify your spiritual life this Lent by reading something uplifting that can bring you closer to Christ? Quite a few people use the 40 days of Lent to pick up a good book that will lead them to a more intimate union with Christ, or that will help them to persevere in the spiritual life. Whatever the reason, if you are wondering what book to choose, here are a few options.

Some of those mentioned are great for some 15-30 minutes of spiritual reading each day; others are better for your prayer time.

Remember it’s not about sitting down and reading it all at once. Spiritual reading has its time and place, and we have to be careful to not fall into spiritual gluttony. It is necessary to read in moderation so you can process and take out spiritual benefit.
