There are so many instances in the Gospel when Jesus tells us to not be afraid. Do you think He said that just because it sounds nice? He said it because He knew we would need to hear it – not once or twice, but over and over again.
“I would like to ask each one of you: What will you do with your life? What are your plans? Have you ever thought of committing your existence totally to Christ? Do you think that there can be anything greater than to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus?”- Pope St. John Paul II
One of the hardest things for us to understand when we think about our vocation is how God’s will and the desires of our heart can go together. “If God was really calling me to that, wouldn’t I be drawn to that vocation?” “I’ve always imagined myself getting married and having a family…therefore, that must be what God’s calling me to.”
What seems to be a day like any other can dramatically change the life of a person. Take for example, Matthew the tax collector. There he was working like any other day at his post when Jesus passes by him and says, “Follow me.” Jesus’ presence changes everything.
