Too often books for teens focus on chastity alone, and while that is an important virtue, I felt that there needed to be more topics addressed. Virtuous living should affect all areas of one’s life. If you aren’t living virtuously in smaller areas of life, why would you suddenly have the gift of chastity?
You will often hear the complaint that people are always on the internet, using their cell phones, checking out what is happening through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and any other social media network. Although this might be true, and we know that everything should be used in an orderly and controlled manner, what are you doing to help others realize that there is more to life than being “connected”?
Help the New Evangelization with your social media connections. The Mission3 website is launching a 50 day campaign on April 5, 2015 to spread the word about the HMY website to more people, and more nations. Help us reach our goal by Pentecost Sunday, and do your part to spread the Good News to others.
We here at "Catholic Stuff" are a group of young people and religious brothers that belong to the Home of the Mother, an International Public Association of Faithful. One of the missions of the Home of the Mother is the conquest of the youth for Christ, and we wanted to do something to fulfill it.
Do not be afraid to go out on the streets and into public places, like the first Apostles who preached Christ and the Good News of salvation in the squares of cities, towns and villages. This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel (Cfr. Rom 1,16 ). It is the time to preach it from the rooftops (Cfr. Matth 10,27 ). Do not be afraid to break out of comfortable and routine modes of living, in order to take up the challenge of making Christ known in the modern "metropolis."
The Gospels are where I need to get to know Jesus. The apostles who lived with Jesus, spent time with Him, listened to Him, were interested in everything He said, and who loved Him deeply, were led by divine inspiration to let people know all they had lived and seen (1Jn 1:1).
