As the month of May comes to an end and we prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit, I thought you might like this short yet powerful prayer to invoke the Paraclete:
“Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your well-beloved Spouse.”
See how short and simple? You are invoking the Holy Spirit, saying beautiful things about Mary, and in doing so, glorifying God. It comes from the book To the Priests: Our Lady’s Beloved Sons (#226).
Now look at this from St. Luis Maria Grignon de Monfort:
When the Holy Spirit, her spouse, finds Mary in a soul, he hastens there and enters fully into it. He gives himself generously to that soul according to the place it has given to his spouse. One of the main reasons why the Holy Spirit does not work striking wonders in souls is that he fails to find in them a sufficiently close union with his faithful and inseparable spouse.
-True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, #36
Well let’s make the Holy Spirit race into our souls this Pentecost by inviting Our Blessed Mother there, renewing our consecration to her (or doing one for the first time!) and giving her a place of honor in our lives. Just as, when a man and woman get married and they become one flesh, and Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit... Imagine how strong their union must be! Meditate on that for awhile! And in the meantime…
“Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your well-beloved Spouse.”
