Via Lucis: Way of Light

Dear Beginner,

Happy Easter! Once again life has triumphed and the Lord of Hope shows us that He has conquered death and sin. Thanks be to God, He calls us to participate in his glory with Him. Uniting our crosses with His, we too can be united into his resurrection.

Perhaps you’ve heard about this already, but for me it is a new discovery: the Via Lucis, or the Way of Light. Just as we may use the Stations of the Cross during Lent to meditate on the passion of Christ, so we can use the Way of Light to meditate on his resurrection. After preparing so much for Easter by remembering how much Jesus suffered, don’t let the Easter season so by without seeing how much He is glorified! Eternally!

I encourage you to check out the Via Lucis and take it to prayer. You can find different ways to pray it, but the basic thing is looking at the different things Jesus did after his resurrection, now glorious. Below I leave you with the 14 Stations of Light along with their corresponding Bible passage. Pray them all at once, or go slowly through each one in your time of prayer.

And rejoice, because Christ is Life, and He has triumphed!
