Our Commitments

We choose to commit ourselves to following Christ and fufilling our missions. There are three levels of commitments for those who form part of the Home of the Mother Youth: Apprentices, Experts, and Veterans.

Commitments common to all the members of the Home of the Mother:

- To pray the Angelus every morning and the daily Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the formulas that are proper to the Association.
- A spiritual life, virtues and apostolate according to one's state of life and level of commitment.
- Confession at least once a month.
- A five minute examination of conscience and praying three Hail Marys and Hail Holy Queen before going to bed.
- Making known to others the richness of one's life by apostolate.
- To receive the imposition of the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel as soon as possible if it hasn't already been received.

Apprentice
Every day: - To visit Jesus in the Tabernacle for five minutes, reading a passage of the Gospels. If this is not possible it can be substituted by five minutes of reflection before a crucifix or an image of the Blessed Virgin at home or in some quiet place.
Every week:- To attend the meetings of Apprentices, or the chat organized for them. Any other activity, no matter how pleasant, should be abandoned if possible, in order to fulfill these commitments.
Every month: - To attend the Get-together of the Home, an excursion to the countryside or visit of interest to cities and towns, organized for the group of Apprentices. - Confession at least once a month.
Every Year:- To attend the summer activities of the Home of the Mother.

 

Expert
Every day:- At least a quarter of an hour of mental prayer and one mystery of the Rosary.
 - At least a quarter of an hour of spiritual reading.

Each week: - To attend the meetings of Experts and Veterans or the chat organized for them.
Every month: - To visit every two weeks or at least once a month their spiritual guide. Before choosing their spiritual guide they should procure the approval of the Superior General of the Servant Priests and Brothers or the Superior General of the Servant Sisters or someone delegated by them.
 - Confession at least once a month. - They must attend activities programmed for them, such as: a trip to the countryside, visits of interest to cities, charity services towards needy brothers and sisters, apostolic works, get-togethers, retreats...

Every year:- To attend the four-day retreat of Spiritual Exercises in silence. 
- To attend, if possible, the other activities organized by the Home of the Mother such as the Holy Week Encounter and summer activities.

 

Veteran
Every day: - At least half of an hour of prayer, Mass and communion. - At least a quarter of an hour of spiritual reading and pray the Rosary.
Every week: - To attend the meetings of Experts and Veterans or the chat organized for them.
Every month: - To visit every two weeks or at least once a month their spiritual guide. Before choosing their spiritual guide they should procure the approval of the Superior General of the Servant Priests and Brothers or the Superior General of the Servant Sisters or someone delegated by them. - They must attend activities programmed for them, such as: a trip to the countryside, visits of interest to cities, charity services towards needy brothers and sisters, apostolic works, get-togethers, retreats... - Confession at least once a month.
Every year:- To attend the four-day retreat of Spiritual Exercises in silence. - To attend, if possible, the other activities organized by the Home of the Mother such as the Holy Week Encounter and summer activities. - The Veteran must strive to cultivate the virtues, especially those that are seen most necessary at his or her stage of life. S/he will cultivate especially humility and patience, charity and chastity, diligence and temperance. - S/he must perfect himself/herself in the innate qualities s/he possesses to put them at the service of God and of other young people.
